Job Description
The Parrot and Penguin Team at Chester Zoo are offering a 3-day keeper exchange for two keepers, to gain key skills and knowledge into how we operate.
This exciting opportunity will give the successful applicants insight into our daily husbandry routines, training and conservation efforts. We care for a wide array of species on section such as Humboldt Penguins, Javan Green Magpie, Great Green Macaw, Bali Myna, Rhinoceros Hornbill and Southern Cassowary, to name a few…
The team is split into two sections, each with a different focus on species and enclosure type. A successful applicant would spend 1 – 2 days on each section, allowing them to gain the most from this 3-day period.
This position would be particularly beneficial to individuals wishing to gain experience working closely with large parrots, penguins and large walk-through aviaries filled with a mixture of passerines, pheasants and columbiformes.
