Meet the Team
We are KEEP a small, not-for-profit organisation, made up of a team of volunteers mostly working as zookeepers, dedicated to helping keepers connect with other collections in order to improve their CPD and, in turn, their animals’ welfare!
Alice
Director
Alice founded the organisation of KEEP back in 2020, during the pandemic. Her main responsibilities as Director are rallying the troops, being an endless source of positivity and enthusiasm, and being a friendly face when talking about KEEP and how important it is to learn from one another.
Alice is a keeper at Golders Hill Park Zoo and Director of "Pardalis Talent".
Dan
Membership Officer
Dan joined KEEP shortly after it's creation and initially was recruited for his technology savvy and help establish KEEPs presence and site. Dan now manages the membership of KEEP, approving and verifying members to ensure that it keeps running smoothly.
Dan is currently a Senior Keeper at Folly Farm.
James
Social Media Officer & CSO
James' role sees him updating KEEP’s followers about changes and upcoming news, as well as being a constant source of hilarious stories and sarcasm.
James is currently a Primate Keeper at Chester Zoo.
Sam
Impact & Governance Officer
Sam oversees KEEP’s exchange programme procedures, ensuring they follow best practice, governance and legal requirements. With extensive experience in the charity sector and running exchange programmes, Sam also supports KEEP with its governance, documentation and legal processes.
Sam is currently Placement Development Lead and Graduate Apprenticeship Mentor Consultant at Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen.
Hannah
Financial Officer
Hannah oversees KEEP’s finances, supporting the organisation with financial management, reporting and ensuring funds are managed responsibly. She brings a strong attention to detail and helps ensure KEEP maintains effective financial governance as it continues to grow.
Hannah previously worked in finance but has since returned to being a Sea Lion Keeper.
Alec
Fundraising Officer
Alec has joined KEEP to manage and develop the technology that supports its day-to-day operations, while also helping to grow partnerships and fundraising opportunities.
Alec is currently Self Employed running a Digital Agency, was previously a Keeper.
