Ape Department

The Ape Department at Dudley Zoo is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with two incredible ape species: Bornean Orangutans and Chimpanzees. Other species within the department include Lar Gibbons, Black Lemurs, Naked Mole Rats, Sloths, Howler Monkeys, and our ant colony. During this two-day experience, you will work alongside our experienced keepers as they carry out their daily duties. You will gain hands-on insight into animal husbandry, including animal training, enrichment activities, feeding routines and enclosure management.
